Mieke HIll

Now a villa atop a dune top. Once it was a children's play paradise with a primitive toboggan (slide) and a fantastic view of the first cottages in the dunes. Architect Albert Dumont, founder of the Dumont neighborhood in De Panne, had bought the chalet (then called Chalet de Saint-Idesbald) and the dune. It housed a tearoom-laiterie. After World War I, the chalet was replaced by a brick villa and named after Mieke, Albert Dumont's daughter.
